We have arrived safe and sound in Israel!!!! 7000 miles away and it's really hard to believe that we are where Jesus did His thang. :) The flight was about 12 hours and was very full. They gave us dinner at midnight our time and then we had a continental breakfast and served brunch. Not bad! My mom was upgraded to FIRST CLASS and was able to spread out, drink wine, and eat better food. Still, our location in the back of the plane wasn't great but we made it. It's 9:45pm here and we are pretty pooped!!! The hotel is nice so far and we had kosher buffet food with some dishes that didn't look familiar :). We were, however, adventuresome and tried some of everything. Right now we're in Tiberius, Israel which is on the Sea of Galillee - it's 700 feet below sea level. In a few days, we'll be in Jerusalem which is 3000 ft above sea level!! Exciting stuff :) Israel is about the size of New Jersey, and yet there are about 9 million people living here.....62% of the country is desert, but the "upper part" where we will be touring is green and fertile (and quite pleasant weather - 70 degrees). It truly is the Promised Land.
OK - we're pooped and need to save our Internet "minutes" :) Our tour starts at 6:30am tomorrow morning and we have a lot of walking ahead of us!!! Right now I'm on a public computer but hopefully tomorrow we can get the wireless connection working so we can upload pictures from our day.
God bless & talk to you soon!!!
